Mary Hall has wide-ranging experience in the field of Management & Supervisory Development. Hallmark Training recognise that in the past few difficult years discretionary spending has resulted in less provision of training for staff. Now, the current environment and sophistication of guests requires a more professional staff if organisational growth and success are to be achieved.
Being asked to do more with less makes it difficult for the manager or supervisor to devote time to people management. Having achieved success through their technical expertise, the challenges posed in managing & supervising staff require a different skill-set. Acquiring effective people management skills will ensure managers & supervisors think, act, manage & lead in a way that motivates staff and encourages better performance allowing businesses to go from mere survival to competitive advantage.
The Hallmark Training of Managers & Supervisors adopts a flexible approach and can be delivered as a series of topics incorporated into a programme, as individual topics or in any combination as demanded by the needs of the organisation. Programmes can also be tailored to meet the needs of either the experienced or novice supervisor/manager. Workshops will be highly interactive and, whilst underpinned by current research and theory, will be focused on the job & provide tips and hints that can be used immediately back at work. Topics include:
- Role of the Supervisor/Manager
- Leadership
- Communication
- Motivation
- Delegation
- Problem Solving
- Handling Complaints
- Dealing with Difficult Situations
- Others as requested
Managing the Operation: Setting & Maintaining Standards
Setting and Maintaining Standards is a fundamental part of good management. This standards-centric Hallmark Training programme aims to improve the working life of the supervisor or manager while also enhancing the guest experience. It focuses on standards of performance from the guests’ perspective, asking questions such as ‘What does the term Standards mean?’, ‘How are Standards set and by whom?’, ‘How are they achieved?’ and, most importantly, ‘How are they maintained?’
Setting & Maintaining Standards is a highly interactive programme. Participants will be able to immediately put this learning into practice & better devise and manage standards of performance in their own workplace. Setting & Maintaining Standards can be delivered as a stand-alone programme or as an integral part of the Management & Supervisory Programme.
